Synopsis

In Minas Gerais, the giant earthworm known as minhocuçu has sustained dozens of families for over a century. In revealing an ancestral relationship with the land, the film questions the discourses that criminalise these communities and shifts the focus onto who is in fact threatening the territory.

Leonardo Branco, Lucas Campos

Leonardo and Lucas have been working together for nine years at Limão Capeta Filmes, the company through which they made the shorts "Quando é La Fora" (2017) and "Super Estrela Prateada" (2018), both as writers and editors, with Leo directing and Lucas on camera. Minhocuçu is the first short they have directed together.
