Synopsis

The city of Santiago reveals itself under the summer sun. A digital zoom distorts high-definition images to create new landscapes. In the middle of it all, two women wander in search of a place to live out their love.

Pascal Viveros, Luciana Merino

Luciana Merino is a Chilean director and screenwriter. She is drawn to a hybrid cinema in which formal experimentation pushes the limits of representation and its capacity to create new imaginaries. Her most recent short film, Al Sol, Lejos del Centro, was selected for the Berlinale Shorts competition in 2024.

Pascal Viveros is a Chilean filmmaker and cinematographer. His work explores landscape as a space where sensory and historical layers converge, through a range of devices. He directed the short films Volver (2019) and Al Sol, Lejos del Centro (2024). His films have screened at international festivals including the Berlinale, the New York Film Festival, Havana and FicValdivia, among others.
