Synopsis

Spring. A sonata, a letter, a bunch of flowers. The landscape of São João da Madeira, a small town in northern Portugal, is slowly crossed by a train. Samuel, 38, devotes his days to his work as a flute teacher and to the rituals of mourning for Luísa, with whom he shared a daily life given over to music. After a visit from his brother, Samuel faces a new impasse in his life.
