Synopsis
FERNLICHT is a character study in four car journeys. Alex, a lonely Berlin taxi driver who transports cocaine, visits her clients in winter, argues with her mother in autumn, goes through a bittersweet sleepless night in spring and finds unexpected hope during an Uber ride in summer. As we focus exclusively on her, other people only appear and disappear at the edges of the story. Moment by moment, we piece together the puzzle of the tragedy that has befallen her life.

Johanna Schorn Kalinsky
Born in Germany to an Argentine mother and a German father, Schorn Kalinsky studied film directing and then completed a postgraduate film course in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She taught screenwriting at the Universidad del Cine before returning to Germany. Now based in Berlin, she is an active member of the editorial team of the film magazine Revolver.
